DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - After saying goodbye to the Wright Amendment back in October of last year, Southwest Airlines is adding more flights in and out of Dallas Love Field. This includes two new flights to California -- nonstop to San Francisco and Oakland.

This is all part of Dallas Love Field's expansion. Flying restrictions at the airport ended in October. For decades, airline flights had been limited, in an effort to protect DFW International Airport. But that is not the case anymore.

With restrictions lifted, Southwest Airlines has increased flights at Dallas Love Field by about 30 percent, and there are plans for even more new destinations later this year. Details on those additional flights have not yet been released. The addition of these new flights has resulted in cheaper fares for travelers.

Passenger airline traffic at Dallas Love Field has soared nearly 37 percent since November.

The inaugural San Francisco flight leaves on Tuesday morning and the first Oakland flight will take off later in the day.
