More Interviews At Valley Ranch
IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - With the Rangers taking center stage this afternoon with the signing of 3b Adrian Beltre, it is a good bet that any press conference introducing Jason Garrett as the permanent Cowboys coach will probably drift into Thursday.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is interviewing Dolphins assistant head coach and secondary coach Todd Bowles today. The word out of Miami continues to be that head coach Tony Sparano is "hanging by a thread" according to one Miami source. That would mean Bowles would/could be looking for work. Bowles was here under Bill Parcells from 2005-07 and he spearheaded a Miami defensive secondary that was regarded as one of the best in the league along with a defense that finished sixth in yards allowed.
Bowles will certainly talk this afternoon about the head coaching position, but he certainly knows the score with Jason Garrett going about his day to day business. There is a real chance that Bowles could be named defensive coordinator with Paul Pasqualoni moving back to another position coach job. The two have worked together over the past five years between stints in Dallas and Miami.
There are also rumors that Wade Phillips could be next in line to run the Houston Texans' defense, meaning a Cowboys position coach or two could follow him down to Houston.
