Moment 8: "How 'Bout Them Cowboys!"

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - In 1992, the upstart Dallas Cowboys were simply happy to be in the NFC championship game against the vaunted San Francisco 49ers. "It was a game that we were the underdogs going in," Troy Aikman recalled about the title game. "They were the veteran team, had won a lot of Super Bowls."
Everyone expected the 49ers to win, but it was the Cowboys who played a crisp game and clung to a 23-20 lead with less than five minutes left in the game.
That's when the Cowboys seized the moment. Aikman found Alvin Harper for a 70-yard completion, setting Dallas up for the game-clinching touchdown. "It was really an underthrown ball," Aikman said, looking back on the pass play. "But it was Alvin Harper being Alvin Harper. He went up took it away from them."

Harper took the ball away, and the Cowboys grabbed the torch away from the 49ers for supremacy in the NFL.
"It is a play, when you look back in the history of the Dallas Cowboys, that stands out as being a big play," said Aikman.
It's also a play that started a football dynasty in Dallas. The Cowboys won the game 30-20 to advance to Super Bowl XXVII, and prompted head coach Jimmy Johnson's postgame battle cry: "How 'bout them Cowboys!"
