Moment 2: Aikman Ends Cowboys Title Drought

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - On January 31, 1993, the Dallas Cowboys ended a 15-year championship drought and created one of their most memorable moments in team history.
Only four years removed from a 1-15 season, the Cowboys reclaimed their place among NFL royalty by dominating the Buffalo Bills at the Rose Bowl. "I don't know that there is a greater stadium in the country for a big event," recalled Troy Aikman, who called the Rose Bowl home when he played quarterback at UCLA.
Super Sunday proved to come up roses for the Cowboys. The Dallas defense forced nine Buffalo turnovers and scored a pair of touchdowns off of takeaways.

The Cowboys rolled to the 52-17 victory as Aikman earned MVP honors, throwing for 273 yards and four touchdowns. Former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson was poised to let Aikman add to those totals. "I remember being on the sidelines of the Super Bowl saying [to Aikman], 'You want to go tie a record and throw a fifth TD pass?' He said, 'Nah, no big deal.'"

Aikman summed it up best. "It was a magical night," he said. "One that I have certainly not forgotten, nor will I."
That unforgettable championship performance is the second greatest moment in Cowboys history.
