DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Cowboys resembled real life cowboys in 1972, when they corralled Miami Dolphins quarterback Bob Griese in Super Bowl VI.
The team's famed 'Doomsday Defense' showed the savvy and style of a cutting horse competition, when they turned Griese backwards three times. With Bob Lilly in pursuit from one side and Larry Cole on the other, Griese could only try to escape in reverse.
Eventually, it was Lilly who sacked Griese for a 29-yard loss as the Cowboys won by a score of 24-3 that day. Forty-four years later, it still stands as the largest negative play in Super Bowl history.
