Missing Oklahoma Boy Found Safe In Rockwall

ROCKWALL (CBSDFW.COM) - There was an Amber Alert issued early Thursday in Oklahoma, and the 7-year-old boy at the center of the search is now safe with police. Authorities in Rockwall located the child with his uncle at about 2:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
The boy has since been picked up by investigators from Oklahoma and was reunited with his family at about 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. His grandparents have custody through Child Protective Services.
Detectives used cell phone tracking to find Cash Umina and his 39-year-old uncle, Jason Montgomery. When the alert was issued, they had last been seen in Wylie. Police caught up with them at the home of the child's other grandparents along Nova Park Court in Rockwall.
The grandmother in North Texas was reportedly on the phone with FBI agents and trying to get help. The grandfather would only say that people in this situation were trying to do the right thing, and no harm was ever intended.
Law enforcement officials had said that Umina was in "grave or immediate danger," but he was not injured in any way when found by police.
Montgomery has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and was recently released from a mental hospital. He was charged with kidnapping and is now behind bars at the Rockwall County jail. Montgomery may be moved to Oklahoma as early as next week if he does not fight extradition. It is not clear why the uncle took the little boy.
