Missing Elderly Dallas Woman Found Alive
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A 74-year-old Dallas woman who went missing on Feb. 23 was found alive Saturday by off-duty members of the Dallas Sheriff's Office.
Lillie Sanders was discovered around 11:30 a.m. by the off-duty officers. Police say she was behind the shed of an abandoned house near Owega Avenue and Ramona Avenue, not far from Glendale Park.
Sanders was reported as a "critical missing" person by DPD after she never returned to her home on Ann Arbor Avenue nearly a week ago.
The abandoned house she was found near is about a mile from her Ann Arbor Avenue home.
The off-duty officers were part of a search team looking for Sanders, conducted by Sanders' family and South Central Dallas police officers and Dallas County Sheriff's deputies.
Sanders was said to be slightly dehydrated, and has since been taken to Parkland Hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue.
There she will be examined and treated.
Officers say Sanders was found with a pillow and a change of clothes.
Police said Sanders has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and depression, and was on her medications while she was missing.
