Missing Carrollton Man & 2 Grandkids Found In Wisconsin

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - CBS 11 News has learned a grandfather and two children missing from Carrollton have been found.

William Gomez and his grandchildren, Marcus and Dominique, were found safe in Washington County, Wisconsin. According to Carrollton police, the grandfather flagged down a sheriff's officer and asked for help.

Authorities say all members of the family are fine. The three are expected to remain in Wisconsin until family members can go and pick them up.

William Gomez, who suffers from a medical condition that periodically affects his memory, left home with the children on Sunday afternoon.

Carrollton police had been using bank account activity to try and locate the 57-year-old. "We have been tracking his debit card use," explained Nicole Rodriguez, with the Carrollton Police Department.

Authorities had tracked Gomez' movements across Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois.

Late Monday evening authorities confirmed Gomez was seen on surveillance video at a Sears department store in Paducha, Kentucky.  Mr. Gomez had his grandchildren with him. Police said he purchased underwear for the kids and asked for directions back to Dallas.

Gomez and his 8- and 7-year-old grandchildren had been traveling in the family's white Jeep. State Highway Patrol agencies and Sheriff's Departments across the country had been alerted to be on the lookout for Gomez.
