Mineral Wells PD Searching For Missing 7-Year-Old

MINERAL WELLS (CBSDFW.COM) – Mineral Wells Police are searching for the father of a 7-year-old girl who was taken in front of her home Saturday afternoon and hasn't been seen since.

Rosalea Giambanco, 7, was in the front yard of her home in the 500 block of Southwest 17th Street around 4:30 p.m. when she was taken. A police spokesman said they're searching for her father, Salvatore "Slade" Giambanco, 39, "in relation to the abduction."

The spokesman added that Giambanco is simply wanted for questioning and has not necessarily broken any laws.

He is 6'1'' and weighs 180 pounds and is likely driving a maroon Sport Utility Vehicle. A police spokesman said a multiagency team is helping search for the father.

The girl's mother, Janicka Gunn, said Giambanco might have headed into the Stephenville or Springtown area. He also has ties to Florida and may be going there.

The Mineral Wells Police Department was unable to secure an Amber Alert. Texas law stipulates that when the parent takes a child, that parent has to commit murder or attempt murder after the kidnapping for the alert to be issued.

If you have any information on either of their whereabouts, contact Lt. Brad Belz at 940.328.7763 or Police Chief Mike McAllester at 940.328.7760.
