Men Charged With Making Threats During Kaufman Murder Investigation
KAUFMAN (CBSDFW.COM) - One of the men accused of making a threat aimed at Kaufman County investigators during the Mike McLelland murder investigation has pleaded no contest to a charge of making a terroristic threat.
56-year old Nick Morale of Terrell admits he made a terroristic threat against a county Judge. Police say the threat was made via a crime-tip line on April 2nd, just days after the bodies of District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia were found.
Under terms of the plea Morale was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail and fined $750, plus court costs. Because he has been locked up since his initial arrest he only has a week left says District Attorney Erleigh Norvell Wiley.
Another man, Robert Miller, was arrested about the same time for making threats via FaceBook for outlining his views on who he thought would be killed next - a message he sent to news agencies around the country. Miller has been indicted and is awaiting trial.

Neither man was connected directly to the investigation into the murders of the McLellands or Kaufman County Assistant Prosecutor Mark Hasse. The two who were arrested in that matter, former Justice of the Peace Eric Williams and his wife Kim, are still being held on capital murder charges.
