When her father passed away from cancer twenty years ago Megan Rouse was just nine years old. Her father was Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Ronald "Rooster" Rouse.
As the twentieth anniversary of father's passing came last year, she came up with an idea to honor his memory.
"I kind of came up with this twenty events in memory of my dad passing away to raise $100,000" Megan said. The twenty events would be running marathons and the $100,000 would go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It was their research that helped her dad to live several extra precious years.
She has accomplished sixteen of the twenty events and has already raised over $132,000 with the help of her family and friends.
"And then the very last event which I'm really excited about is the Dallas Marathon Relay. I'm just gonna run my heart out" Megan added.
