McKinney Lions Boys Basketball Team Going To State 1st Time In 94 Years

McKINNEY, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - It's been a long time since the McKinney Lions basketball team have been practicing this late in the season.

The Lions are headed to the state tournament in San Antonio to play Austin Westlake in the Class 6A state semifinals on Friday night.

The last time the city of McKinney had a state bound boys basketball team, it was 94 years ago.

In 1928, they lost in the quarterfinals of an 8-team state tourney.
