McKinney Teacher Named TEA Teacher Of The Year
McKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - A North Texas educator has been tabbed as the state's best teacher.
Reading specialist Karen Morman of Webb Elementary in McKinney has been named Texas's 2012 Teacher of the Year by the Texas Education Agency.
For her nomination, Morman was given $5,000 and an opportunity to be honored by President Obama at a White House Rose Garden ceremony.
Morman will also now represent the state of Texas in a national competition.
