McKinney PD: Shooting Death Appears Accidental
McKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) – McKinney Police say a 20-year-old man's shooting death Wednesday appears to be accidental.
Deputy Chief Joe Ellenburg said witnesses told investigators that two brothers were inside the Collin County Tire & Auto store at 1312 N. Tennessee St. "playing" around with a pistol.
Then gun went off, hitting Abudaabes Ala, 20, in the neck. Ellenburg said McKinney Fire responders performed CPR at the scene before they took him to Medical Center McKinney, where he died.
It wasn't clear who the gun belonged to or why the brothers were handling it there. McKinney Police are investigating the incident and will decide afterward whether a crime occurred.
