McKinney Chiropractor Again Arrested For Sexual Assault
MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) – Dr. David Russell, the McKinney chiropractor who is accused of sexually assaulting at least two teenaged girls, was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting two adults in a separate incident.
In a release, McKinney police said the arrest comes "as a result of the ongoing criminal investigation" against the doctor.
Russell was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and is being held on $50,000 bond – each charge carries a $25,000 bond. Both are second degree felonies. The first offense was reported on Nov. 8 and the other was reported on Nov. 10, just two days later.
Originally, one charge carried a $200,o00 bond. But, for an unknown reason, that amount was dropped to $25,000 by an outside judge after Russell was arraigned.
On Nov. 17, the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners temporarily suspended Russell's license in the wake of the previous charges.
Russell was first arrested on Oct. 28 and again on Nov. 4. He is accused of sexually abusing two teenaged girls who he met while volunteering at the Taylor Dance Studio, which is owned by his girlfriend.
Police accuse him of assaulting a 16-year-old girl – who authorities say is 18-years-old now – and a 13-year-old girl at his clinic. Court documents show Russell helped with stretching and conditioning at the dance studio.
Police say the sexual assaults took place while he treated the two girls privately for groin injuries.
McKinney Police offered no further information on the new charges, citing the ongoing investigation.
