The chicken dance has taken on a whole new meaning to some folks in McKinney. It all started when Yvonne Evans wondered what she could do in her backyard that would be fun and different.
"My neighbor said you are going to build an adorable chicken coop and you're going to raise chickens" said Yvonne Evans.
That was the beginning of the annual McKinney Tour De Coop. It's a fun self-guided tour of six McKinney chicken coops.
"It's a perfect tie-in for the Farmers Market. People are interested in sustainability, they are interested in knowing where their food comes from" said Jaymie Pedigo of Chesnutt Square where the tour begins.
They will also have lectures on raising chickens, kids activities and even a raffle for a real chicken coop. Tickets for the 4th Annual McKinney Tour De Coop are on sale now.
