McCartney Postpones Texas Tour Dates To Recover
NEW YORK (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Paul McCartney is rescheduling U.S. tour dates as he continues to recover from a virus he received treatment for last month.
McCartney, who turns 72 next week, says he's taking his doctor's advice and will take more time to rest. Last month he cancelled his "Out There Japan Tour 2014" because of his illness.
The former Beatles singer announced Monday tour stops scheduled for mid-June will be postponed to October. He was supposed to kick off the U.S. leg of his tour Saturday in Lubbock, followed by a June 16 date in Dallas. Instead his first show will be July 5 in Albany, New York, with the Lubbock date reset for October 2 and the Dallas date for Monday, October 13 at the American Airlines Center.
A statement released by McCartney said -
"I'm sorry but it's going to be a few more weeks before we get rocking in America again. I'm feeling great but taking my docs' advice to take it easy for just a few more days. Look forward to seeing you all soon."
U.S. tickets for the seven original June dates will be honored at the new dates. The tour wraps up October 28 in Louisville, Kentucky.
