Mavs sign three; announce training camp schedule
The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have signed free agents Dee Brown, Brian Cardinal and Adam Haluska to join the team for its 2010 training camp. With the trio of signees, Dallas will enter its first practice on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at Southern Methodist University with a 17-player roster.
Brown (6-0, 185) was originally a second round pick of the Utah Jazz (46th overall) in the 2006 NBA Draft. The former University of Illinois standout has seen action in 68 NBA games with three teams (Utah, Phoenix and Washington) and holds career averages of 2.1 points and 1.8 assists in 10.5 minutes per game.
Cardinal (6-8, 240) is a 10-year pro who has played in 356 career games (33 starts) with five teams (Detroit, Golden State, Washington, Memphis and Minnesota). The Tolono, Ill., native holds career averages of 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per contest.
Halusksa (6-5, 210) has spent time on both the New Orleans Hornets and Houston Rockets rosters and, most recently, played overseas for Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem in Israel. While in Israel, the Carroll, Iowa native averaged 3.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 10.8 minutes per game.
Dallas will kickoff training camp by holding its annual Media Day at 2 p.m. on Sept. 27 at American Airlines Center. The Mavericks will practice daily beginning on Sept. 28 at 10:00 a.m. on the campus of SMU.
All practice sessions will be held at the Crum Basketball Center located on the southwest corner of Binkley Avenue and Dublin Street.
