NEW YORK (CBSDFW.COM) - Dirk and the boys took their talents (and their trophy) to New York via satellite as they appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday night to present Letterman's signature Top Ten List.

Eight players from the 2011 NBA Champion squad, including NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, joined head coach Rick Carlisle and Mavs owner Mark Cuban to present the Top Ten List from their practice area at the American Airlines Center.

Wednesday night's list was 'Top 10 Things About Winning The NBA Championship.'

Number 10 was Shawn Marion: "I don't have to sit here and lie about how winning isn't important."

Number 9 was J.J. Barea: "The congratulatory 'sext' from Anthony Weiner."

Roddy Beaubois, reading #8, struggled a little with: "Helped take the sting out of hearing Hef's wedding was cancelled."

Number 7 was Brian Cardinal: "It's every kid's dream to lick the Larry O'Brein Trophy."

Rick Carlisle had #6 "U.S. Constitution permits NBA Champs to sit in on National security briefing."

Tyson Chandler showed his softer side with #5: "Celebrating with my kitties," he said with a grin while acting like he was petting a cat.

Carron Butler, joked around about his injury with #4: "Why didn't anyone tell me we won?!"

Jason Terry had #3 "Now I can ask Mark Cuban for a raise," he said, patting Cuban on the back and grinning.

Cuban's #2 "If you thought I was cocky and obnoxious before... Get Ready."

And Dirk Nowitzki had the #1 answer of the night with "It might land me a Kardashian Sister!" he smiled, pointing his finger in the air like he'd just made a clutch 3-pointer.

This was the first national appearance by the team since Sunday night's 105-95 victory over the Miami Heat.

Thursday morning the Mavericks will hold their victory parade through the streets of downtown Dallas, wrapping up with a special event for season ticket holders at the AAC that will be shown on the big screens outside in Victory Plaza.

The Mavs were on the Late Show one night before Rangers slugger and reigning American League MVP Josh Hamilton.  The outfielder will sit down with Letterman on Thursday night following the Rangers afternoon road game against the New York Yankees.

Late Night with David Letterman airs weeknights on CBS 11 at 10:35, following CBS 11 News at 10.
