Mavs Aim To Take Tighter Defense To Oklahoma City
DALLAS (AP) From having a long layoff to riding their superstar to a victory in their first game back, the Dallas Mavericks fell into some bad habits.
They took the Oklahoma City Thunder too lightly. That turned them lazy and sloppy, especially on defense.
At least, that's how center Tyson Chandler explains why his club is heading to Oklahoma City with the Western Conference finals tied at one game apiece going into Game 3 on Saturday night.
Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said his team was lucky to win either of the first two games considering how poorly they defended.
The Mavericks went from not giving up more than 96 points the first two rounds to allowing at least 106 in each game against the Thunder.
