Mavericks Sign Free Agent Forwards Jamil Wilson, Brandon Ashley
DALLAS (CBSDFW) - The Dallas Mavericks have signed free-agent forwards Jamil Wilson and Brandon Ashley, per team policy the terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Wilson (6'7") averaged 10.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 41 games last season with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA D-League. The Milwaukee native played his final three seasons of college basketball at Marquette University (2011-14) where, as a senior, he averaged 11.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 32 games.
Ashley went undrafted out of the University of Arizona after his junior season earlier this year, averaged 10.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in seven games for the Atlanta Hawks' summer league team in Las Vegas this month.
The 6'9" Ashley averaged 12.2 points and 5.2 rebounds for Arizona last year. He was also named Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 and the Most Outstanding player of the Pac-12 tournament as a junior.
