Benefit Concert Raises Money For Dallas Officer Hurt In Ambush

MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) – The City of Mansfield tonight presented a check for $11,853 to one of the Dallas police officers injured in the July ambush downtown.
The big check was an even bigger surprise to Senior Corporal Ivan Saldana.
"Well they didn't tell me what exactly it was going to be, they just told me they wanted my presence in the city council meeting," said Cpl. Saldana, who lives in Mansfield.
The money was raised at a concert held at "The Lot" in July.
Cpl. Saldana said he's grateful for the generosity of everyone who donated.
