MISD Teacher Arrested For Student Sex Assault

MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) - The principal of Mary Orr Intermediate School sent a letter to parents on Monday informing them that Mansfield Independent School District police officers arrested an employee in connection with the alleged aggravated sexual assault of a student.

The district later confirmed that the suspect is 62-year-old Kelly Williams. He is a special education instructor with the school.

The alleged incident happened at the campus.

The MISD Police Department is working with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office on the investigation.

Parents learning about the arrest on Tuesday said that they were concerned. "We're just praying for the family, for the school, that they can figure out what's going on," said one mother.

Principal Duane Thurston stated in the letter, "The district takes this matter very seriously. This type of behavior is not tolerated in any way and does not coincide with the integrity Mansfield ISD upholds."
