Man's Body Found On Interstate in Arlington

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A man's body was found by firefighters on Interstate 30 near Fielder Road Saturday morning.

The Arlington Police Department said an Arlington Fire Department vehicle was returning from a call at about 4:00 a.m. when the driver saw a car swerve to avoid an object on the interstate. When the firefighters stopped to investigate they saw it was a man. It is believed he was the victim of a hit and run.

The Arlington Police Department has confirmed the vehicle that firefighters observed trying to avoid the man's body was not involved in his death.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved in the man's death is a recent model Volkswagen Jetta with extensive damage to the front, including the grill and grill emblem.
