Man Wanted For Child Murder, Killed By Police
23 year old Arturo Pacheco-Barrera was shot and killed by authorities after police say he refused to drop his weapon and was armed.
Police believe Barrera kidnapped Salvador Briones Jr. Friday and demanded a $15,000 ransom from his family. He killed the boy and dumped his body 12 hours later, police believe.
Barrera had escaped from Mineral Wells police Friday night while was under questioning in the disappearance of the child. Police say the child's body was found behind a vacant house a few hours after he was reported missing from his parents' home.
Police found him after receiving a tip from a woman who said she believed he was on her property off Dobbs Valley Road.
