Man Dies After McKinney Homes Burn

MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - A man is dead after a fire destroyed one home and badly damaged another home early Wednesday morning in McKinney. The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Scenic Hills Drive, not far from Boyd High School.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found one house fully involved. The flames were so intense that they caught the neighboring home on fire as well.
Firefighters quickly called a second alarm and were able to extinguish the flames.
The body of a man was located on the second floor of the first house that caught on fire. His name has not yet been released. Family members told investigators that they were not sure if he the man was inside when the fire broke out.
No other injuries were reported, and there was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
