Man Dies After Shooting Near Dallas Nightclub
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A man who was shot early Tuesday morning outside of a crowded southwest Dallas nightclub ultimately died from his injuries, authorities said. Police were called at about 2:00 a.m. to Club Rio Ventures, located in the 700 block of Walton Walker Boulevard, for reports about a gunshot being fired.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found that the man who had been shot near the club had made his way to a nearby gas station. The victim stumbled toward one officer was taken to Methodist Central Hospital, but later died. He has since been identified as 19-year-old Jose Peralta.
Homicide detectives learned that Peralta and 17-year-old Raul Zuniga had been in several past altercations at the Club Rio Ventures nightclub and that both men had been asked to leave. According to authorities, Peralta and some friends were in a parking lot when Zuniga continued an earlier argument and opened fire.
Zuniga has been taken into custody. There were no other injuries reported during this incident.
