Man Shot, Killed During Attempted Robbery In Arlington

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Arlington police investigators say it appears two men attempting to rob another man Sunday night shot and killed the victim.

Police say officers responded to a shooting call around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 10 in the area of Melear Drive and Longmeadow Drive.

That's where they found a man outside of a with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say the victim, along with two other friends, was in the 5800 block of Tinsley Drive in their car when the suspects approached them.

Investigators believe a "high-risk transaction" was taking place moments before the shooting.

Both suspects ran off after the shooting, while the victim's friends drove off, then stopped to call 911.

Police describe the suspects this way:

Black males  5'8" – 5'10" tall. One of the suspects was wearing a white shirt and black shorts and the second suspect was wearing a black shirt and black pants.
