Man Shot During Fort Worth Burglary Attempt

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A man was shot Tuesday morning during a burglary attempt in west Fort Worth. The incident happened just before 3:00 a.m. at the Hills Apartments, located at the intersection of West Normandale Street and Chamita Lane.

According to police, the man and his wife were outside looking for a lost pet when they were confronted by two or three suspects demanding money. When the man reached for a pocketknife, one of the suspects opened fire. The victim was struck in the leg and taken to Texas Health Harris Hospital in Fort Worth.

The man is expected to be okay. His wife was not injured during the incident.

The suspects fled the scene and have not yet been located. Police described them only as black males in a dark-colored vehicle.
