Man Shot By Sheriff's Deputy

A man was shot by a sheriff's deputy in Ellis County...but investigators are calling it self-defense. About 7:30 last night, the deputy pulled over the man near Palmer because he was a suspect in a fight at a nearby house. The deputy says the man jumped out of his car and lunged at him with a knife. The deputy fired a shot and hit the man in the stomach. He was flown to a Dallas hospital in an unknown condition. The deputy was okay....
