GREENVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Greenville Police say when officers went to serve a felony warrant, the suspect they were coming for, James Wesley Prindel, refused to come out from under a bed and pointed a weapon at the officers who then shot him.
Police says this happened around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday at the United Housing Authority at 1216 Interstate 30.
Police say officers were allowed into one of the rooms, where they found Prindel hiding under the bed.
After police saw him point a weapon at them and shot him, Prindel was rushed to Medical City in Plano.
No word on the suspect's condition.
No officers were injured and two officers were placed on routine administrative leave.
The Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation.
Prindel, who was wanted on a parole warrant, is also being charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer.
