Man Shot After Being Asked To Help Repair Vehicle
DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A man who answered the door of his house to help fix a broken vehicle wound up getting shot Thursday night in Denton.
Police said the suspect came to a door in the 600 block of Cordell Street - not far from Denton High School around 10:45 p.m.
A teenage girl answered and the man asked if anyone was there who could help him with his vehicle, which was broken.
The girl's father came out and a short time later, the girl heard a pop noise. She came to the door to see her father shot.
Medics and police were called along with a CareFlite helicopter, which took the victim to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
The man's condition was not known, but he was unconscious and breathing at the time of transport, police said.
There's no word so far on the description of the suspect, and police don't yet know whether the suspect and the victim knew each other.
