ROWLETT (CBSDFW.COM) - Watching Saturday's tornado, Randy Pritchard and a friend suddenly noticed it was headed their way.
Pritchard's cell phone was recording as they ran to the home of neighbor with a storm shelter.
"We could hear it right behind us," he said.
Pritchard said he made it inside with seconds to spare.
Huddled inside with six other people, he recorded dust swirling as the tornado passed over them.
"In the back of your head the whole time you're hoping it didn't do anything," he said. "Then we opened the other door."
As lightning lit up the sky, Pritchard saw his home was destroyed.
"When I re-watch that video, my heart goes up to 100 miles an hour."
And yet Pritchard has posted the video online for friends to see.
"I think there's a lesson to be learned. Don't stand there like an idiot like we did and think it's going the other way," he said. "Run like hell, and always have a good pair of shoes on."
