Man Pleads Not Guilty To Charge Of Supporting ISIS

PHOENIX (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — An Arizona man accused of helping plan an attack on a Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland has pleaded not guilty to a charge that he also conspired to provide material support to the Islamic State group.
Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem entered the plea Wednesday.
He was charged this summer with providing the guns used in the May 3, 2015 attack at the cartoon contest and hosting the two men who carried out the attack in his home to discuss the contest.
Kareem was indicted again last week on a charge that he conspired to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
Authorities say Kareem researched traveling to the Middle East to fight alongside the Islamic State.
His lawyer has said the case was trumped up.
