Man Pleads Guilty To Insurance Firm Robberies

DALLAS (AP) -€” A Dallas man has pleaded guilty to the armed robbery of workers at two insurance companies.

Prosecutors in Dallas say 31-year-old Michael Cleveland could get more than 70 years in federal prison for last September's holdups.

Cleveland on Tuesday pleaded guilty to two counts of interference with commerce by robbery and two counts of possessing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Cleveland was suspected of more than a dozen robberies before his arrest last October for an alleged traffic violation. The SUV matched a vehicle captured in surveillance video from some insurance business holdups.

Cleveland faces a maximum 20 years in prison for each robbery conviction. One firearm conviction carries a possible seven-year prison term, while the second count has a penalty of up to 25 years behind bars.
