Police: Man Shot, Killed In Apparent Road Rage Incident In Arlington

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Arlington police say a man was shot and killed in an apparent road rage incident on I-20 between Cooper and Matlock on Sunday.

According to police, a 19-year-old man was shot in the head while driving along the freeway. The victim lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a National Tire and Battery sign after he was shot.

During investigation, a witness reported seeing a black four-door sedan with dark-tinted windows that pulled up alongside the pickup truck on the freeway. The witness said one shot was fired from the sedan and into a rolled down passenger-side window of the truck.

Witnesses believe there were at least two occupants in the black sedan, and it continued to travel eastbound on I-20 after the shooting.

Investigators believe the black sedan had silver rims and low profile, possibly after-market wheels.

The 19-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Dylan Spaid.

A female passenger in the pickup truck was also injured in the crash. She was transported to a local hospital and treated for injuries unrelated to the shooting.

Police say this is an active investigation.
