Man Killed Outside Of Frisco Walmart Store
FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Frisco are looking for two men who may have more information about a shooting outside of a Walmart store. The incident happened around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night at the store located at the intersection of Preston Road and Hickory Street.
The initial police call reported a disturbance and gunshots just behind the Walmart store. When police arrived on the scene, they spotted a black Mercedes circling the parking lot. One man then jumped out of the car and quickly ran through the store, escaping through a back exit and setting off the store's fire alarm.
The 30-year-old victim was also found inside of that black Mercedes. He was transported to Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. The victim's identity has not yet been released, but he was confirmed as the owner of the black Mercedes.
Another man was seen running along Hickory Street around the time of this incident. He and the man who jumped out of the Mercedes are being called 'persons of interest' in this case. "We don't have them identified," said Sgt. Adam Henderson with the Frisco Police Department. "We're still trying to locate them and talk to them. We don't know if they are additional victims, witnesses, or if they're associated with committing the crime."
Because the shooting incident happened in a busy area at a busy time, police have plenty of witnesses to interview, and high-tech surveillance video from the Walmart store, which just opened two weeks ago. Authorities are now going through all of this information to learn more about all of the men in question.
