Man Kidnapped From DFW Airport Gas Station Dies

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A 42-year-old man was found unconscious -- and later died -- after he was kidnapped from a south Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport gas station Thursday afternoon.
Airport spokesperson David Magana said investigators now believe the incident was not a random act, and that the victim was likely followed to the gas station from a location off the airport.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is also now involved in the investigation.
In a statement released by DFW Airport, officials said the man was inside the Shell station at Rental Car Drive and International Parkway at about 2 p.m. when he saw several suspects breaking into his car.
According to the report, the man left the store and confronted the individuals. Officials said he was then forced into another car by the suspects then driven away.
The victim was found unconscious about two miles from the gas station in the 4300 block of West Northgate Drive in Irving. He was rushed by Irving Emergency Medical Services to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made and the victim's name has yet to be released.
DFW Airport Department of Public Safety detectives are leading the investigation with assistance from the FBI, along with Dallas, Irving and Grapevine police.
