Man Injured In Lewisville Explosion Dies

LEWISVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - The man who was injured during a house explosion in Lewisville on Friday has died. That victim, identified as 55-year-old Scott Deahl, was pulled off of life support on Sunday night. He is survived by two sisters and a 12-year-old daughter.

Deahl had lived at the duplex for less than a year, and had volunteered for Christian Community Action, who owns the building, doing maintenance four days a week.

Crews from Texas New Mexico Power (TNMP) struck a four-inch gas line that started the leak. Deahl was transported to the hospital by ambulance in critical condition. He underwent surgery, but was ultimately unable to recover from his injuries. Two firefighters were also hurt.

TNMP released a statement Saturday. That can be found here.

Christian Community Action, a nonprofit group that rents out homes to struggling families, will hold press conference on Monday. This particular home was part of an affordable housing complex. Residents at the complex are staying in hotels until their homes are deemed safe.
