Man Gets 18 Years Jail For Role In Clerk's Death

FORT WORTH (AP) - A North Texas man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in the 2011 fatal shooting of a grocery store clerk who was being robbed.

Nicholas Dewayne King of Fort Worth was charged with capital murder in the death of Yasir Elsadig. The 21-year-old King pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated robbery in a plea agreement.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Tuesday that two 16-year-olds reached plea deals last month. A youth alleged to be the shooter was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to capital murder . The other teen received 12 years for aggravated robbery.

Prosecutors say the victim, who moved to Texas from Sudan, was shot in a robbery attempt after closing the store and walking to his car.
