Man Finds Wife, 2 Other Relatives Shot To Death
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - For the second time in as many days Fort Worth Homicide Investigators are trying to determine how three people died in a single household.
Officers were called to the 500 block of Felix Street near I-35S and I-20 just after eight Tuesday morning. According to family members the victims were dead when another relative returned home from his night job.
Anthony DeLeon spent the day trying to make sense of it all. "I know there's death everywhere but these three girls, three ladies, they didn't deserve this," he told reporters.
DeLeon's brother-in-law came home from his night job to a terrible discovery: the man's wife and two female relatives had been shot, one had been stabbed to death. DeLeon said he had just talked to them about at 10 o'clock Monday night and all seemed well. Family members are extremely close emotionally and physically; many live in the neighborhood. Rose Guerrero was sobbing as she struggled with the scene. "And for something like this awful should just happen overnight... no one was expecting for this to happen to them," she said.
She was comforted by neighbor Blanca Rubion. "It's something really sad because it's my neighbors. I think I'm really scared because you don't know what really happened."
Another neighbor, Lorena Hamilton, was visibly distressed, too.
"It kind of scares me because I've got kids of my own and this is going on? Terrifies me," she told CBS 11 News.
Hamilton lives two doors down and has three daughters and son. She said she was unaware of what happened until she heard one of the victims' relatives screaming outside this morning. "And she said, 'You know, they killed my family.' What else can I say? I started panicking, I got scared, I made my husband check my house and make sure nobody was in our house."
So far police were tight-lipped about precisely what happened. Anthony DeLeon said he is confident it's murder.
"I just want the public to know that three innocent women... three innocent women. And if there's anybody anything that they know, please -- please, help us."
Police said the crime isn't connected to a shooting incident Monday wherein three people were found shot to death in a home in the 200 block of Sunset Lane in West Fort Worth.
