Man Convicted Over 1992 Killing Of Garland Grandma

DALLAS (AP) - A man caught in Tennessee has been convicted of the 1992 killing of a Texas woman in an attack that left her three grandchildren wounded.

Jurors in Dallas on Tuesday convicted 40-year-old Clarence Bailey of capital murder in the shooting death of 79-year-old Elma Mae Adkins at her son's home. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty. Bailey received an automatic life prison term.

Dedrick Jones of Hernando, Miss., in 2007 was convicted of the killing and sentenced to life in prison.

Bailey was arrested in 2009 in Memphis, Tenn., after the victim's son, ex-bail bondsman Ron Tyler, saw him on a reality television show. Bailey was a witness to another crime in an episode filmed in Memphis.

Tyler had a bond payment dispute with Jones.
