Man Convicted Of Robbing 2 Fort Worth Banks
FORT WORTH (AP) - A North Texas man convicted of robbing two Fort Worth banks faces up to 40 years in prison when he's sentenced next year.
Prosecutors on Wednesday announced the conviction of 29-year-old Montray Lorenzo Cato of Fort Worth.
Nobody was hurt in the June 13 and June 28 robberies of First Convenience Bank branches.
Cato was arrested Aug. 29 after employees at another First Convenience Bank noticed him loitering in the grocery store where the branch is located.
Police escorted Cato out and discovered he had a plastic replica of a gun. Investigators say Cato had claimed to be shopping but he carried no money, credit or debit cards.
Sentencing has been scheduled for March. Cato could get 20 years in prison on each count.
