FORT WORTH (KRLD-AM) -- It's a frightening instance of life imitating art for one Fort Worth woman.

Over the weekend, the woman was sleeping on her couch with the show A Stranger In My Home on the TV -- when all of the sudden, there really was a stranger in her home!

"He came through the window right there by the couch, walked around a little bit, then attacked her," says Det. Kerry Adcock.

The man put his hand over the woman's mouth and started to choke her, but she fought him off.

"She said, 'Keep the money, take whatever you want,' and he said, 'No, I'm here for sex.' "

The man continued fighting with the woman but ran out of the house after she started screaming.

Fortunately, she has a home surveillance system.

"She had had some burglaries in the past, so a friend of hers installed a security system in case someone broke in," Det. Adcock says.

The woman was shaken up but otherwise was not hurt.

If you know who her attacker is, call Fort Worth Police.
