Man Allegedly Kicks Dog To Death Over Apartment Dispute

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A dispute at an east Fort Worth apartment complex ends with a dog allegedly kicked to death by a man now in police custody.

The incident happened at the Sandy Oaks Apartments on the east side of the city, in the 100 block of San Villa Drive.

Apartment resident Ebony Dobbins says it was her tiny dog that was killed in a dispute over a ceiling repair in her apartment. Dobbins claimed an acquaintance of the apartment complex manager killed her pet. "It was a Yorkie mixed with a Chihuahua," she said. "Today her [manager] boyfriend killed my dog and she watched him kill my dog. He kicked him to death."

Dobbins said the ceiling in her apartment actually caved in and there had been an ongoing dispute about fixing it. Now she's left trying to figure out how that issue led to this. "I'm very mad and I don't understand this, because she had plenty of time to fix my apartment."

Early Wednesday afternoon KRLD's Chuck Schechner tried speaking with property workers, but the apartment manager declined comment.

Dobbins said she felt helpless as the man attacked her pet. "I was on my patio while she [apartment manager] watched him kill my dog."

After the incident the woman said she called police. When officers arrived they took one man into custody while they continued to investigate the case. "He's in jail," Dobbins said. "The police arrested him this morning."
