'Lunch Buddy Bandit' May Be Responsible For 11 Dallas Bank Robberies

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- Authorities are searching for a man dubbed the "lunch buddy bandit" who is believed responsible for as many as 11 bank robberies in Dallas since December.
In most instances, the suspect has verbally demanded money from the teller and fled on foot.
"Lunch buddy bandit got his name because he chooses to rob banks, or attempts to rob banks, around the lunch hour," says Katie Chaumont of the Dallas FBI.
The suspect has indicated that he's carrying a weapon, but has never produced one or injured anyone.
He is described as a black male, 25 to 35 years old, standing 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 with an average build. Authorities say his hair appears to be close-shaved. He also has a close-shaved beard or goatee.
During most robberies, he wears a dark hoodie, dark pants, and sunglasses. He has also been seen wearing baseball-style caps with logos ranging from the Phoenix Suns to the San Antonio Spurs.
Following one robbery, a witness observed the suspect leaving the scene in a light-colored Chevrolet Impala with a sunroof, tinted windows, and spoiler on the trunk.
The most recent robbery occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Capital One Bank at 4111 Gaston Ave.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
