LUBBOCK (CBSDFW.COM) – Twelve years ago, Lubbock Police responded to one of the most violent and gruesome murders they had seen.

Tammie Cooper, 45, and her three young children were discovered brutally murdered inside their home on MLK Boulevard in Lubbock.

On October 25, 2004, a family friend came to the house to pick up 9-year- old twin boys Kandiece and Kasheem Allen and 11-year-old Mohogany Allen to take them to school. After entering the home, he discovered their bodies and called 911.

Investigators believe Ms. Cooper knew the attacker, and evidence shows she fought back.

Cooper and her family were originally from Dallas and were known to frequently visit family and friends there. Investigators hope someone in the Dallas area might have additional information about Cooper's past relationships and acquaintances.

Investigators are also asking for any information on a person of interest who might go by the nickname 'Butch'.

Callers can remain anonymous, anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
