Free Throws In Final Second To Put Louisiana Tech Over UNT 66-65

RUSTON, La. (AP) - Anthony Duruji made two free throws in the final second to give Louisiana Tech a 66-65 win over North Texas in Conference USA action on Thursday night.

Roosevelt Smart nailed two straight 3-pointers, hitting the last one with 7.4 seconds remaining, to give North Texas a 65-64 advantage. A.J. Lawson fouled Duruji and the 6-foot-7 freshman calmly dropped in both free throws for the win.

Louisiana Tech was ahead 29-25 at the break. Smart, who hit seven treys, nailed one with 14:33 left in the game to give North Texas a 42-40 lead. Duruji, who made 4 of 6 from beyond the arc, followed with a 3-point jumper to retake the lead. The Bulldogs held the advantage until Smart hit his final 3.

Duruji led the Bulldogs (11-9, 2-5) with 25 points and seven rebounds and Amorie Archibald added 21 points with five assists.

Smart totaled 23 points for North Texas (10-9, 3-3).
