Little Scores 33 Points, Wylie Wins State Title

AUSTIN (AP) – Peyton Little scored 33 points, including a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left at end of the third quarter, leading Abilene Wylie to a 59-45 win over Celina for the 3A state title.

Little, named championship game MVP, also had six rebounds and converted 15 of 18 free throws. Her third-quarter shot sent the Bulldogs (36-5) on a 26-15 scoring run that led to the outcome.

Wylie was making its third straight state appearance, eighth in school history.

Freshman K.J. Stastny had 15 points and eight rebounds while senior sister Presley Stastny led Celina (34-4) with 16 points and seven rebounds.
