Lightning Sparks House Fires In Waxahachie
WAXAHACHIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Lightning is being blamed for three house fires in Waxahachie. Chief David Hudgins with the Waxahachie Fire Department told KRLD that the fires started at about 7:00 p.m. on Monday night, just as storms starting rolling through the area.
The city had to call on neighboring fire departments for help fighting the flames. Two other homes in the area were also struck by lightning on Monday night, but they did not catch fire.
Nobody was hurt in the incidents. CBS 11 News surveyed the area on Tuesday morning and found roof damage to a number of homes.
